Øyafestivalen 2019

Last week I worked two days at Øyafestivalen in Oslo for the Norwegian magazine GAFFA.no and the international agency Gonzales Photo. This was the 20th edition of the festival, and I have attended each year since 2007.

Some of my personal highlights included The Cure and Blood Orange (Wednesday) and Eryka Badu (Thursday).

2016 in Music: A Collection of Photos

This year has had its ups and downs; it's been strange and sad losing musical heroes such as David Bowie, Prince, Leonard Cohen, Sharon Jones, Freddie Wadling and Alan Vega and many more within the last 12 months, but I've also had an amazing year in terms of music and photography. I've attended over 120 concerts - including festivals such as Bergenfest, Tons Of Rock and Øyafestivalen in Norway and Primavera Sound in Spain.

I've shot pictures of Radiohead, Tame Impala, Mariah Carey, Pere Ubu, Kamasi Washington, Jean-Michel Jarre, Grimes, Black Sabbath, Bruce Springsteen, New Order, Thundercat, Anderson .Paak, Peaches, PJ Harvey, The Cure, Paul Simon, Håkan Hellström, Eagles Of Death Metal, Midnight Choir, Suede, Justin Bieber, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Ellie Goulding, just to mention a few.

In addition to that I've been traveling to Barcelona, Berlin and London, seen Iggy Pop perform with Josh Homme and Matt Helders, catched a legendary performance by Wayne Shorter at London Jazz Festival and seen David Bowie's 'Lazarus' with one of my favorite actors, Michael C. Hall, as the main character. ...AND I've had a photo of Noel Gallagher exhibited at Ragnarock Museum of Rock, Pop & Youth Culture in Roskilde, Denmark.

What a year, indeed!

To mark the end of 2016 I've collected some of my favorite photos of the year.

I hope you enjoy it!

The Cure

Earlier this evening The Cure performed live at Oslo Spektrum, the group's first concert in Norway in eight years. When the band visited the same venue in 2008 I was standing in the first row jumping and singing along - this time I photographed the first three songs and then found my seat (gettin' older) to enjoy the rest of the gig.

Check out some of my photos from the show (mostly Robert Smith) here:
