The Metropolitan Museum of Art

This week the exhibition «Play it Loud: Instruments of Rock & Roll» opens at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

The exhibition is organized by the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and will present approximately 130 instruments alongside posters and costumes. Many of rock's most celebrated and recognized instruments will be featured, representing artists across generations and subgenres. In addition to institutional and private collectors, many musicians are lending their performance and recording instruments.

I am so proud that my picture of Tom Morello (above) is a part of the exhibition. Last week legends like Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Don Felder (Eagles) and Tina Weymouth (Talking Heads) attended an exclusive sneek peek of the exhibition at the famous museum (where The Roots also performed during the night). Most likely I will head over to New York City in September to visit the exhibition myself. I must say it feels really strange having one of my pictures hang on a wall in a museum that holds a collection of work by Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Edward Hopper, Georgia O'Keeffe, Vincent van Gogh, Man Ray and Henri Matisse.

Would strongly recommend a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City between April 8th and October 1st for some rock & roll history.

Below you can check out an article on me and the exhibition in the local newspaper BA.

2018 in Music: A Collection of Photos

This year has been a year of new adventures. I’ve been doing a little less music photography, but has managed to travel a lot, visiting new and old places. Ibiza, New York, Iceland. New festivals with and without my camera bag; Panorama NYC, Roskilde Festival, Øyafestivalen, Iceland Airwaves. Enjoying life and working hard.

I started 2018 with a wonderful and intimate Charlotte Dos Santos show at Victoria Nasjonal Jazzscene in Oslo and ended it with a really poor concert by Ms. Lauryn Hill at Oslo Spektrum. In between I’ve photographed artists like Sigrid, Grandmaster Flash, Gary Numan, Harry Styles, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Metallica, Demi Lovato, Foo Fighters, Father John Misty, Prophets Of Rage, Arcade Fire, St. Vincent, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Roger Waters, Jeff Lynne, Laurie Anderson, Shania Twain, Blood Orange and MGMT. Not bad!

I sincerly hope you enjoy this collection of pictures from 2018 (click on the image for full screen).
